It is a four-bedroom single storey house in a quarter of an acre of grounds in the pretty village of Boxford near Sudbury in Suffolk. It was designed by Lincolnshire-based architect Jerry Harrall due to his experience in eco-buildings. Wherever possible, recycled and sustainable materials were used: polished concrete floor made of recycled concete, walls made of dense, recycled concrete blocks for max insulation and roof from 12 per cent recycled aluminium.
